Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Gold Price Calculator - Today ("the App"), formerly Gold Worth Calculator. The App is developed by Hayder Kharrufa and published on Google Play under the developer name Haydara ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of the App

The App allows you to:

Estimate the value of gold items from their weight and karat using market gold prices
View charts of the gold price and of the estimated value of your items over time
Optionally back up your items by signing in with your Google account

The App is free and supported by advertisements. There are no in-app purchases or premium features.

3. Estimates Only, Not Financial Advice

All values shown in the App are estimates provided for general information only. They are calculated from a market price of gold and the details you enter, and do not include dealer premiums or discounts, making charges, fees, taxes, or testing costs. The amount you would receive when selling, or pay when buying, will usually be different.
Gold prices and exchange rates come from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Historical prices older than about five years are monthly averages. Values in currencies other than the US dollar use current exchange rates, not the rates on the purchase date.
Karat values represent nominal purity. The actual gold content of an item may differ. Regional units such as tola, pavan, baht, tael, and mithqal use common standard weights, which can vary locally.
The App does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Nothing in the App is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold gold or any other asset. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
The App cannot be used to buy or sell gold and is not affiliated with any bank, broker, dealer, or exchange.

4. Accounts and Backup

Using the App does not require an account. Backup is optional and uses Google Sign-In.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your account in the App.
Backup is provided as a convenience. We do not guarantee that it will always be available, complete, or free of errors, and we recommend that you keep your own records of important information.
You may sign out or delete your account at any time from Settings > Backup in the App. See Delete Your Account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App or to extract data from it or from its services
Attempt to access another user's account or data
Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers, networks, or security measures
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws

6. Advertisements

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the display of advertisements. Ad content is selected and served by Google and is subject to Google's advertising policies. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements or for any products or services they promote.

7. Third-Party Services and Data

The App relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting), Google Sign-In, and Google AdMob. Market data is provided by:

Daily historical gold prices: xaus.com
Currency exchange rates: Rates By Exchange Rate API
Monthly historical gold prices: World Bank Commodity Price Data (The Pink Sheet), via datahub.io

These services are operated by their respective providers and are subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of any third-party service or data. If a third-party service experiences downtime, changes its terms, or discontinues operation, certain features of the App may become temporarily or permanently unavailable. We shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from the actions or failures of third-party service providers.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including but not limited to its design, graphics, user interface, code, and all other content, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App
Create derivative works based on the App
Use any of the App's content for commercial purposes

Market data shown in the App remains subject to the terms of its providers listed in section 7.

9. Changes to the App

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any of its features, including Backup, at any time. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice before discontinuing Backup so that you can keep a record of your items.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

The App will be available at all times or free from interruptions
The App will be error-free or free of harmful components
Gold prices, exchange rates, estimated values, gains, losses, or charts will be accurate, complete, or up to date
Backups will always be available or complete

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Any decision to buy, sell, or hold gold or any other asset made on the basis of information in the App
Financial loss resulting from inaccurate, delayed, or incomplete prices, exchange rates, or estimated values
Loss of data, including items stored on your device or in a backup
Interruptions or errors in the App

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid to use the App (which is zero, as the App is free).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App, and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the App.
