Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Gold Price Calculator - Today ("we", "us", "our", or "the App"), formerly Gold Worth Calculator, collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. The App is developed by Hayder Kharrufa and published on Google Play under the developer name Haydara. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following information locally on your device:

The gold items you enter: weight, unit, karat, purchase date, and the market price of gold on that date
Your settings: display currency, theme, language, and chart preferences
Usage counters: the date the App was first opened and the number of times it has been opened, which are used to decide when advertisements may be shown
Your advertising consent choice, where consent is required

This information stays on your device unless you turn on Backup (section 1.2). If your device's own backup service is enabled, such as Android Backup or iCloud Backup, your operating system may include this information in that backup under the terms of that service.

1.2 Backup (Optional)

Backup is optional. If you sign in with Google from Settings > Backup, the following information is stored on Google Firebase servers:

We receive your name and profile photo from Google Sign-In, but the App only displays your email address, and only to you. We do not use your email address for marketing and do not show it to anyone else.

While you are signed in, your items are backed up automatically whenever they change. Signing out stops further backups but does not delete your existing backup. To delete it, delete your account as described in section 7.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics): app opens, sessions, screens viewed, app version, device model, operating system version, language, approximate location (such as country or city) derived from your IP address, and an app instance identifier. Firebase Analytics may also collect your device's advertising identifier. This information is not linked to your Google account.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): if the App crashes, a report containing the error details, device model, operating system version, app version, and an installation identifier. Crash reports are not linked to your Google account.
Advertising data (Google AdMob): described in section 5.

1.4 Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files
The App does not ask how much you paid for your items
The App does not collect payment information and has no in-app purchases
The App does not connect to any bank, broker, dealer, or exchange, and cannot buy or sell gold

2. How We Use Your Information

To calculate the estimated value of your gold items and show price charts
To back up and restore your items when you use Backup
To display advertisements through Google AdMob
To understand how the App is used and improve it
To detect, investigate, and fix crashes and bugs
To respond to your questions and requests

3. Market Price Data

The App downloads gold prices and currency exchange rates from the providers listed in section 4. These requests do not contain your gold items, your account, or any other personal information. As with any internet request, these providers can see your device's IP address. Monthly historical gold prices are included in the App itself and do not require a network request.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties other than the service providers listed above.

5. Advertising

The App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and general device information to serve and measure ads, and may use cookies or similar technologies. For details, see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. Where this applies, you can change your choice at any time from Settings > Ad privacy options inside the App.

6. Data Storage, Transfer, and Security

Backups and account information are stored by Google Firebase in the United States. Analytics, crash reports, and advertising data are processed by Google and may be stored in the United States or other countries. By using these features, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including:

Firebase Authentication for access control
Database security rules that prevent other users from reading or changing your backup
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit

As the operator of the App, we are able to access stored backups through Google Firebase's administrative tools. We do so only where it is necessary to answer a support request you have made, to investigate a technical fault, or to meet a legal obligation. We do not look at your items for any other purpose, and we do not disclose them to anyone else.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Information on your device: Kept until you remove your items, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.
Account and backup: Kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account in the App (Settings > Backup > Delete account), your account and backup are deleted from our Firebase servers. Residual copies may remain in Google's backup systems for a limited period before they are permanently erased.
Sign-in IP addresses: Kept by Firebase Authentication for a few weeks.
Crash reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
Analytics: Retained according to Google Analytics data retention settings, for no longer than 14 months.
Advertising data: Retained by Google according to its own policies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access: Your items are always visible in the App. You can contact us to request a copy of your backup
Correction: Edit or remove your items at any time
Deletion: Delete your account and backup from within the App, or contact us
Withdraw consent: Change your advertising consent from Settings > Ad privacy options where available, sign out to stop backups, or uninstall the App to stop all data collection

To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app settings or contact us at the email address below. We respond to requests within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. International Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another region with data protection laws, please note:

Our legal basis for storing your backup is to provide the service you request by signing in. For analytics and crash reports, it is our legitimate interest in keeping the App working and improving it. For personalised advertising, it is your consent, which you can withdraw or change at any time from Settings > Ad privacy options
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Data transfers outside the EEA are protected by Google's standard contractual clauses

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
